Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of modern yoga with postures (called asanas) held for longer periods of time. This gentle type of yoga is meant to stretch and strain the inflexible connective tissue that surrounds the joints, specifically the hips, lower spine and, pelvis.
With only moderate stress applied to connective tissues, flexibility and blood circulation in the joints are improved. On the spiritual side, yin yoga will unblock and release QI, which is considered as the flow of “life force” or energy within your body.
This easy-to-follow practice can be done by anyone from beginners to athletes to the elderly, with postures customized by your instructor according to suit your needs and ability level. Each session takes 1 hour. Book 1 session for a trial class and 4 sessions to experience the full benefit of this yoga style.
