Amna, a professional calligraphy artist, will introduce you to these ancient calligraphy alphabets and can teach you beginner to advanced techniques used to practice making letterforms. You’ll learn about the tools and materials every calligrapher needs and how to hold and use the pen, starting with basic strokes & much more depending on your requirement.
Session Guide:
- 1 session is an Introduction to Calligraphy - Introduction of Kufic calligraphy and learns ways to compose basic Arabic alphabets in Kufic script
- 3 sessions are for Intermediate Calligraphy - You will learn the joining of alphabets and letter blending. And finally how to compose any Arabic scripts in Kufic + Introduction to Calligraphy
- 5 sessions will have Advanced Calligraphy - Transferring final composition on sheet, rules, and regulations, and then how to paint and outline the script. Will have a final execution on how to give a border(BAFT) and illumination (decorative borders) + Introduction to Calligraphy + Intermediate Calligraphy
Please note: Language to teach during the classes will be English but the instructor can teach Calligraphy only for Arabic Letters/ Arabic Alphabets

- For 1 & 3 sessions, materials needed Graph Pad, Steel Edge Scale and Geometry Box (Approx Cost - 50aed for all materials)
- For 5 Sessions, materials needed: Geometry box, Graph Pad, Steel Edge Scale, Scholar Sheet, Poster Paints (black & golden), Pallete (to mix paints), Water Paint Brush (3size small, medium, large), Black pointer pen, Tracing paper & Paper Tape (Approx Cost - 150 AED for all materials)
