Fashion Design with Prof. Dijana Macura

Dijana Macura is an Assistant Professor of fashion design and an award-winning fashion designer with 20 years of professional experience in the fashion industry and 18 years of academic fashion teaching and program coordination at the university level (10 years in UAE-University of Sharjah and Higher Colleges of Technology Sharjah.)

She earned her University & MA degree in Fashion, Stage Costume, and Painting from the University of Arts Academy of Applied Arts in the Belgrade Republic of Serbia. Her awarded & conceptual fashion collections have been presented internationally in Paris, Milan, Rome, Dusseldorf, always on the edge between innovation and trend forecasting but firmly defined as wearable unique fashion, and art-wear.

Dijana has earned several awards in the course of her career including The Best Fashion Designer Award 2002 Fashion Week Belgrade, The Republic of Serbia Award for the Innovative Design 1997, Federal Association of Inventors Republic of Serbia Award for the Design Improvement 1996, Economy Council of Belgrade-Republic of Serbia. Additionally, mentoring her fashion students in UAE brought to them continuous award-winning success at the most prestigious fashion competitions in Dubai such as Tiffany & Harper’s Bazaar Competition 2014 (1st & 2nd prize), Fashion Runway Dubai 2015 (2nd prize), and Global Sustainable Fashion Competition Dubai 2018 (2nd and 1st prize).
