Art with Alfiyah

Alfiyah is a visual artist, based in Dubai. She enjoys painting various subjects in Watercolours and Gouache but her main forte remains Landscape and Seascapes in Acrylics.

Her journey as an artist started from Ibn Seena English High School in Sharjah, while growing up. She went on to pursue a basic & advanced course in Fashion Design, specialising in Illustrations from Sharjah.

However art remained only as her hobby owing to a decade’s tenure in different occupational spaces in UAE, Pakistan and UK.
She re-discovered art during her stay in UK. She self-taught herself the necessary skills by studying many resource books of renowned artists and her natural creative flair helped me to gain a sound technical understanding and knowledge of various techniques involved.

Her passion for art led her to work as an Assistant Art Teacher in Education Bay School in DHA, Karachi and Art Teacher in Karachi High School from 2018 - 2020, that led her to win the Teacher’s Award of Excellence in 9th ArtBeat National Child Art Competition & Exhibition in 2019-2020.

Teaching wasn’t immediately on her radar but she enjoyed discovering a new aspect about myself that she was able to flex between the different age groups and correspond effectively with their ideas, giving them the tangible platform to convert them to pieces of art.
