American Sign Language, or ASL, is the primary sign language used by Deaf communities in the USA and Canada, and has spread throughout the world as one of the most popular sign languages. In these private online 2-hour lessons, an experienced ASL instructor will teach your child the principles of this language and can customize the schedule to their skill level, with no experience necessary!

They can choose between 5 sessions to grasp the fundamentals of ASL or 10 sessions for a comprehensive overview.

Course Outline:

Session 1: The Icebreaker. Get acquainted with the history of ASL, Finger spelling and numbers. Learn how to introduce yourself and learn family signs. Followed by various practical and fun exercises
Session 2: Get to Work. What is your profession? Learn the signs of various professions. Learn about buildings and directions so you can also sign how you get to your work
Session 3: Food. Explore the world of food signs; burgers and the ingredients used to make a burger, and more
Session 4: Time & Medicine. Learn numerous signs related to medicine. Learn days of the week and time so we can remember what day and time medicine must be taken
Session 5: Feeling Emotional. Signs for emotions are particularly important as they help to express yourself and your feelings
Session 6: Colors & Creatures. Learn the signs of various animals and fantastic creatures, and enter the world of colors with color signs
Session 7: Our Beloved Mother Earth. Explore the signs of continents, various countries, oceans, and natural beauty within them
Session 8: Holidays are Coming! Explore the signs of religion, faith, and festivals, including Christmas, Eid, Hannukah etc. Learn to sign your holiday stories
Session 9: It's just a Phrase! Learn about idioms and phrase signs
Session 10: It's a Wrap! Learn about signs related to plan disruption. Will also include a thorough revision of all the words you have learned so far and fun video comprehension exercises
