In this 2-day course, you'll learn all the foundation skills and advanced skills and will have a lot of practice on the machines to master the art of coffee to become a pro.
Course Outline:
- Espresso Basics: Understanding the fundamentals of espresso, including the extraction process, grind size, dosing, tamping, and the role of water temperature and pressure
- Coffee Beans: Learning about different coffee bean varieties, origins, and characteristics
- Coffee Grinding: Exploring the importance of proper coffee grinding techniques, adjusting grind size for different brewing methods, and the impact of grind consistency on extraction
- Espresso Machine Operation: Familiarize oneself with the various components of an espresso machine, including the group head, portafilter, steam wand, and boiler. Learning how to operate the machine, calibrate espresso extraction parameters, and troubleshoot common issues
- Milk Steaming and Latte Art: Mastering the art of steaming milk to create silky and velvety textures, as well as understanding the principles of latte art, such as pouring techniques, free pouring, and etching
- Coffee Menu: Developing knowledge about different coffee beverages, their ingredients, and preparation methods. This includes classics like cappuccino, latte, mochas
