Are you interested in Chinese alternative medicine? This 4-hour workshop is a great way to gain a basic understanding of the three ancient healing arts: (1) Gua Sha (also known as spooning or scraping), (2) Cupping and (3) Acupuncture.
In this workshop, participants will learn about the history and applications of these three natural therapy methods and understand the potential impact of each method on different conditions such as pain, stress, skin problems, inflammations, and many others.
The session will start with a theoretical explanation of each of the treatments followed by a practical demonstration. Participants might get the chance to apply the learned techniques during the workshop based on their readiness and existing knowledge and skills in the field of medical treatments.
(1) Gua Sha involves scrapping the surface of the skin using special Gua Sha massaging tools, helping to reinforce the blood flow, disperse blood clots, cleanse the blood and expel toxins.
Helps against: Pain, stress, fever, allergic inflammations, and asthma
(2) Cupping is a practice where a simple cup or pump (e.g. electrical or manual) is used to apply a local suction effect on the skin to increase the blood flow and promote healing.
Helps against: Blood disorders, skin problems, high blood pressure, migraines, and rheumatic diseases.
(3) Acupuncture involves inserting very thin sterile needles through the skin at specific points on the body, to various depths, restoring the internal energy balance of the body and activating its natural ability to heal.
Helps against: Pain relief, light sports injuries, gastrointestinal disorder, and respiratory diseases
