Have you ever wondered what makes some people great leaders and others not as good?
There was a time when the only factor that was measured scientifically about people's personality was IQ (Intelligence Quotient). Over time, this fell out of favor as we realized its inaccuracy in predicting a person's possibility of success. As the theory of multiple intelligences gained traction, more people became interested in studying different aspects of our personality.
Emotional intelligence or EQ (Emotional Quotient) encompasses 4 main components:
- Self-awareness: The ability to recognize and understand one's own emotions. This includes our triggers, strengths and limitations.
- Self-management: After recognizing our emotions, it is crucial to effectively manage them. This involves regulating and controlling our emotions in different situations that involve challenge, stress, and conflict. It also includes adaptability, resilience, and maintaining positivity
- Social awareness: The ability to perceive and understand the emotions of others. This relies on being attentive to verbal and non-verbal cues such as facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice. Being more socially aware allows us to communicate better by understanding and sharing the feelings of others.
- Relationship management: using our social awareness to communicate more effectively, resolve conflict, and work with and inspire others. People with well-developed relationship management maintain healthier relationships, collaborate effectively, and navigate social dynamics.
Join this 2-hour workshop, and unlock your abilities to navigate social interactions better, and build stronger and healthier relationships with friends, family, and colleagues.
