SketchUp is a 3D modeling program from Google, which students can use to transform 2D drawings into stunning 3Ds. The program helps visualize designs and turn them into reality. Even if you're new to using 3D software, the instructor's straightforward step-by-step explanations will ensure you're able to make your own models with ease.

• Topic 1
  • Program overview and settings for Mac and PC
  • Understanding the x, y, z planes and navigating between them
  • Understanding all tool sets and examples
  • Completing class activity using tool sets
• Topic 2
  • Drawing plans in 3D SketchUp
  • Understanding layers
  • Making the cornice with Follow Me
  • Making walls, flooring, and ceiling
• Topic 3
  • Adding curtains, doors, and windows
  • Adding furniture on to the face of planes
  • Making groups
  • Moving, rotating, and scaling furniture
• Topic 4
  • Adding color to the 3D
  • Adding and making your own textures
  • Changing the style of the final image (at least 3-4 final shots with different angles)
  • Exporting shots

Internship & Work Opportunities

The end goal of the training is to secure work in the industry, which is facilitated through internship opportunities at design companies and showrooms such as Pottery Barn, Ethan Allen, Crate & Barrel, and more. Work shadowing is also organized for top students during holiday breaks. Great care is taken to match the student's aspirations and abilities with a suitable practice.
