Whether you want to showcase your own creations for your small business, your blog, or to shoot for a client, this workshop will equip you to craft outstanding images that will capture the best side of products.
With demonstrations and hands-on practice, this intensive 7-hour group workshop will help you take on product photography. You will shoot items like a pro as you learn how to use three affordable and inexpensive setups - natural light, DIY lightbox, and studio lighting - according to the type of products you need to shoot.
You will be taught by an experienced photographer who will provide you with live editing demonstrations, covering the best practices for post-production of product images. By cutting out the need to invest in gear, you’ll be able to delve into product photography the moment you get home.
- Planning a shoot, achieving your aims, mood boards
- Camera settings & composition relevant to product photography
- Styling products with props, accessories, and backgrounds
- Creating lighting setups: natural light, DIY lightbox, and studio lighting
Who Should Attend:
To take this workshop you must have a thorough understanding of ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and how all of these relate to each other to achieve correct exposure. If you are not familiar with these terms or currently shoot in Auto or P mode, you should take the Introduction to Photography (Level 1) workshop prior to attending.
About the Instructor:
Laura Huntley leaped into photography in 2009, diving into books and research that propelled her self-taught skills with the camera. She broke free of her management position and moved to Dubai in pursuit of adventure. Laura has assisted the legendary Joe McNally, who inspired her to take photography on as a career which she has been doing since 2010.
Shooting families and kids are her forte, but she is savvy in all varieties of the trade. Laura brings her photographic passion to teach students and inspire them to pursue their journey in photography.
Intermediate & Advanced
Students are required to bring the following materials:
- DSLR or Mirrorless camera with a fully charged battery
- Camera lenses (within the 50mm-150mm range)
- A macro lens (optional)
- An empty memory card for their camera with an identifying mark
- Notebook & pen
- The instructor will provide notes for the workshop
