Display your artistic flair, with a class that combines traditional painting with contemporary selfies. This unique art class brings old and new modes of self-expression together, letting students explore the work of Henri Matisse in a fun and relatable way.
The process will be as follows:
- Students will take a selfie.
- Recreate the selfie with charcoal.
- Fill in with soft pastels.
- Finish up with acrylic paint.
The 2 to 2.5-hour session lets students enjoy learning about post-impressionist art, in a relaxed and casual setting - with the freedom to try out their own ideas in keeping with the highly personal themes of the art form.
Materials:
* Students must bring soft pastels, a charcoal stick, A3 drawing paper, double-sided tape, acrylic paint, and a canvas.
