Experience the creativity subtraction in art!

Masking Fluid is a liquid made from a latex-based substance and is applied to areas of an artwork the artist wants to keep white. Once it’s dry it can be peeled off, revealing the untouched white paper underneath, like liquid magic!

This class is an exploration of using masking fluid to create a simple painting using water colors. Students will be given information on the best materials to use, where to source them and how to incorporate the use of asking fluid in their artworks by the help of a fun project design including florals, patterns, landscapes and food. Students will learn the technique of application, painting over and removing the masking fluid as well as tracing their chosen patterns using a light box. At the end of the class, the students will have a framed unique finished illustration to take home.
