Fukinsei is a Japanese concept of aesthetics based on the principle that irregularity or asymmetry, driven from the concept of 'Zen'. It maintains the idea of ‘rustic simplicity’ or ‘flawed beauty’ and this art class helps make art in ‘flow’, free from structure and symmetry. Each project allows the student to explore the beauty of creating loose strokes with watercolor painting and creating simple flowers, sunsets, skies in an expressive form.

The medium to explore this type of painting will be watercolors and the student will learn how to control color and apply details with pen and ink. The finished piece will be a bookmark / A4 size artwork to frame.
