In these private 1.5-hour lessons, your child can learn to mark marvelous music from either the violin, the oud, or the most ancient instrument of all, the human voice! Experienced instructor Naqqash will customize the lessons according to their skill level and learning objectives.
If they only want to learn the basic principles of the instrument, they can opt for 4 sessions, or try 8 or 16 sessions to dive deep in details and benefit from a fully developed program. They can also rebook the sessions for extended practice and learning.

- Learn to Play the Violin
- Right posturing for Bow and Violin
- Bowing Patterns and Techniques
- Intonation and Major Scales
- Basic Notation
- Improvisation phrasing and arpeggios exercises
- Singing & Vocals
- Basic music theory & concepts
- Melody & Rhythm fundamentals
- Elements of music (black and white notes, intervals)
- Natural & Sharp notes, octaves, and scales
- Major and minor scales
- Major, minor, diminished and augmented chords
- The Circle of 5ths
- The 12 major keys and relative minors
- Learn to Play the Oud
- How to hold Oud properly including the right posturing for correct sound production
- To use different plectrums (risha, mizrap) for strumming patterns
- How to play basic Arabic scales (major and minor scales)
- Improvisations and phrasing exercises
- Rhythmic patterns
- How to play melodies
Materials:
- Violin can be provided for the first class. Students must have their own Violin for future classes. Purchase recommendations can be given by the instructor
- Students must have their own Oud for classes. Purchase recommendations can be given by the instructor
