- Your child will dive into the fundamentals of watercolor painting and explore the delicate art of capturing the essence of flowers on paper. Whether you're a complete novice or have some experience with watercolors, this class is designed to cater to your individual needs and help you build a solid foundation in this captivating medium.
- Option 2: Paint to Print - Digitize Watercolor Paintings for Prints (Full Outline Below)
- They will bridge the gap between traditional and digital art, empowering you to digitize your watercolor masterpieces with confidence and creativity. They will discover the techniques and tools necessary to transform your physical watercolor artwork into stunning print-ready digital media.
About the Instructor:
Tilika is an artist, art educator and paintmaker who moved to Dubai in 2017 and dove head first into the art community here. She has previously developed a watercolor and illustration workshop that continues to this day, and has taught a renowned Young Artist’s Program at one of the top art centers in Dubai.
Over the years, Tilika has collaborated with multiple home grown businesses and continues to celebrate her love for food and the ocean through her paintings and illustrations.
FULL COURSE OUTLINES:
Option 1: Floral or Food Watercolor Illustration
- Fundamental Techniques: You'll learn the essential techniques of watercolor painting, including color mixing, brushwork, layering, and troubleshooting.
- Exploring Florals: Discover the secrets behind depicting various types of flowers and leafs.
- Creative Expression: While learning the techniques, you're encouraged to unleash your creativity and add your personal touch to each artwork.
- Materials and Resources: You'll be provided with artist-grade watercolor paint and a special set of curated supplies to be used during your class.
- Take home your Masterpiece: Finally, take home your completed artwork all framed and ready to be hung up and shown off!
Option 2: Paint to Print - Digitize Watercolor Artwork
- Introduction to Digital Tools: Dive into the world of digital art as Tilika introduces you to the tools and software necessary to digitize your watercolor creations. You'll learn how to leverage technology to scan/photograph, enhance, and refine your artwork while preserving the unique qualities and essence of your original piece.
- Layout and design: Learn how to use your scanned art and design a stunning digital invite or print.
- Prep for print: Prepare your beautifully designed A5 invite/art print for printing.
- Notes: You can bring your own A4 sized artwork or use the instructor's own. During the workshop, Tilika will teach you through her own laptop, scanner and printer.
- Requirements: Basic computer skills, access to a scanner or camera and Adobe Photoshop are required to be able to apply the skills learnt upon workshop completion.
Materials:
- For Option 2, students are recommended to bring a Laptop with Adobe Photoshop installed. During the workshop, Tilika will teach you through her own laptop, scanner and printer
