Based on Trinidad steel drums, the handpan was developed by Swiss musicians and introduced to the world in 2001. Since then it's surged in popularity, helped along by its fun UFO-type look. In this 1-hour, online, private lesson, you'll learn how to play the handpan for yourself! Beginners will learn the basics and how to practice their skills. Intermediate to advanced learners will be introduced to advanced skills, improvise their musical compositions and refine their existing skills.
Choose between 1, 5 and 10 sessions. These lessons can be customized according to their goals and rebooked as many times as required.
Course Outline:
- Handpan structure and notes
- Exposure to Indian and Western notes
- How to play with both hands
- How to play songs in minor and major scales
- How to play with rhythm
- How to perform live in front of an audience
Materials:
- Students must purchase their own instrument and the instructor will offer advice on where to purchase it after booking
