- Week 8: August 24th-28th - Gaming with Unity
Course Outline:
Internet of Things
Students learn how the Internet of Things works by building connected systems from the ground up — from controlling a single device, to responding to events, to autonomous operation, networking, and control through web and phone apps.
3D Modelling & Printing
Students design their own 3D models in Fusion 360, progressing from basic shapes to print-ready designs. They learn how 3D printing works, its real-world applications, and the constraints that shape design — and finish the week with a model printed on a real 3D printer.
Coding with Python
Students learn programming through Python, one of the most widely used languages in industry and academia. The course covers variables, conditions, loops, functions, and data types, then applies them to build working projects. By the end of the week, students are writing their own Python programs from scratch.
Arduino
Students learn electronics, programming, and how to combine them. Using Arduino with C/C++ and the Arduino IDE, they build and code real circuits — covering digital and analog pins, PWM, motors, servos, sensors, and more.
Cybersecurity
A gamified, project-based introduction to cybersecurity. Students develop the cybersecurity mindset, build practical skills, and learn to keep themselves safe online — through Raspberry Pi builds, ciphers, code-cracking, network analysis, ethical hacking, and social engineering.
Web Development Camp
Students learn how web development works behind the scenes. They develop skills in HTML and CSS, create their own web pages, and build a portfolio website — covering structure, styling, layout, responsive design fundamentals, and multi-page sites.
Digital Animation
Students explore the science and art behind animation through hands-on projects covering stop motion, 2D digital animation, and flipbooks — learning storytelling, timing, motion, and character design. By the end of the week, each student has created their own animated projects across multiple styles.
Gaming with Unity
Students step into game development with Unity and C#, designing, building, and publishing their own games. They cover scene setup, game objects, physics, scripting, player controls, and UI design — finishing with a playable game they can share.
