This 1-month certificate program is suitable for both beginners to fashion design and those with prior experience, focusing on the subject of textile studies. This course is divided into 2 components, Fashion Textile Studies and Fashion History.

Program Outline:

• Students will learn the importance of different types of fabrics and their properties
• Students will also have a field visit for better practical knowledge
• Students will make a fabric file as their assignment for them to identify multiple fabrics after their understanding, they will be collecting small samples and filing them
• Students will learn about different weaves of fabrics for better understanding
• Students will learn about the iconic fashion history and learn how to take inspirations from world historical elements and design collections , this is a very helpful subject for students who like concept designing
• Students will learn how to use appropriate fabrics for the fashion collection they design

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

• Promote an understanding of Fashion and Textile Design in relation to the needs of fashion, contractual furnishings, home textiles, and the business to business textile products
• Locate, analyze, and synthesize market research data and apply that data to delineate the needs of specific markets
• Critically evaluate textile product design solutions in terms of needs of diverse textile end uses and communicate those evaluations using appropriate vocabulary, terminologies, and structural dimensions
