Let your little princess wear your very own clothing creations loud and proud! Learn how to design and sew a skirt, frock or your choice of shirt/pants that will be a sure perfect fit for your kid or younger sister. Your expert dressmaker Shilpa will guide you throughout the whole dressmaking process in this 2-hour class, whether you have basic sewing knowledge or even if you’ve never touched a sewing machine before! Sessions are for ladies only. Class size can vary between 1 to 3 students depending on your preferred schedule.
Book any ONE of the following options:
- Option 1: Skirt
- Option 2: Frock
- Option 3: Shorts/Pants
You can always rebook the class if you wish to learn the other options or create more varieties of the same project. Materials will be provided but you can bring the fabric of your choice as long as it’s cotton or cotton mix type.
What you will learn:
Option 1: Skirt (Your choice of a Circle skirt/Straight skirt/Pleated skirt)
- Take measurements for a skirt
- Make of elasticated waistband for straight and circle skirt
- Make the waistband and side zipper for a pleated skirt
- Hem and finish the skirt
Option 2: Frock
- Take all measurements for the frock
- Create a pattern and cut the fabric
- Create a gathered waist and pleated waist
- Finish the bodice with lining or without lining
- Neck binding and sleeves binding
- Sew sleeveless or with sleeves
- Attach zipper or buttons
- Bottom and sleeves hemming and finishing
Option 3: Shorts/Pants
- Take measurements for shorts/pants
- Pattern making
- Cut the fabric with the patterns
- Construct the waistband/elastic
- Sew the pockets
- Finish the seams
Materials:
- Sewing materials & basic fabric will be provided; you can optionally bring your own fabric (1.5 meters of cotton or cotton mix fabrics only)
