In classical portraiture, there are several things you need to control and think about to make flattering portraits of your subjects. This includes lighting ratio, lighting pattern, facial view, and angle of view. It is suggested that a photographer must first get to know the basics of the art inside out and then break the rules by experimentation.
With this 6-hour class, you’ll be well on your way to taking great pictures of people. You'll be learning about lighting pattern: what is it, why it’s important, and how to use it, how light and shadow play across the face to create different shapes, and other aspects of good portraiture.
You'll be practicing the four most common types of lighting:
- Split lighting
- Loop lighting
- Rembrandt lighting
- Butterfly lighting
* A DSLR camera will be provided for practice during the class
All sessions are valid for 30 days upon booking
16 and older
* You will receive a certificate from the academy
