If you want to capture vibrant photos of the night sky, this is the class for you. Astrophotography is the photography of astronomical objects, celestial events, and areas of the night sky.
This private, 9-hour course involves 4 hours of shooting time and 5 hours of editing, which will be split between 2 sessions. You'll learn from award-winning photographer Prakash, a Sony Middle East ambassador, educator, and social media influencer. No prior experience is needed to take the class. For shooting the night sky, you will travel to one of the darkest places in the UAE, where you will have the opportunity to learn the following:
- All camera settings to get the best possible photo shots of the Milky Way
- How to optimize the lens you have
- Which lens works better in the current location and weather conditions
- Where to find a Milky Way and how to shoot a star trail
- How to track a Milky Way and how to use the timer
- The importance of composition
During the second session, you will have the opportunity to go through the images you've taken and learn basic editing techniques.
Materials:
* For shooting, students must bring their own cameras, lens, filters & remote control (AKA intervalometer). The instructor can provide guidance on purchasing the items after registration
* For editing, students must bring a laptop with access to Photoshop & Lightroom

* Session 1 is a 4-hour shoot (excluding driving time), which will take place overnight on Friday or Saturday between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m., depending on moon visibility and Milky Way rising time. The session will include a 2.5-hour driving time (one way) to RAK or Abu Dhabi as there is no Milky Way in Dubai
* Session 2 is a 5-hour session devoted to editing
Location:
The classes will take place in two locations for each session:
Session 1 location: Either Abu Dhabi or RAK (Instructor can drive them or send coordinates of where to arrive)
Session 2 location: At client's premise or any public place in Dubai
