This 8-hour (8 sessions x 1 hour) private class gives students of all levels of experience the chance to learn and improve their skills in acrylic painting and collage art.

Under the guidance of a professional artist, you will develop a solid understanding of the visual diversity of mixed media, including the fundamentals of painting with acrylics.

You will also have the freedom to choose the medium you wish to use for your collage, and the instructor will help bring your creative vision to reality.

Course Outline:

• Elements of Acrylic Paints - Liquid acrylics,Tubes and jars
• Preparing Acrylics Starter Palettes - Color theory (Primary, secondary, Tertiary, and complementary colors or opposite colors) and color mixing. Basic colors and Tones to start painting.
• Characteristics of Acrylic Paint - Gessoes , Mediums, Additives and Varnishes.
• Paintbrushes - Brush shapes and how to take care of them
• Painting Brush Techniques - For Round brushes: short strokes, rounded marks, dots, long strokes and Rough, uneven texture patterns. For flat brushes: long strokes, short strokes, thin strokes, dots, and Rough, uneven texture.
• Painting Knives Techniques - Broad marks, Press on and lift off, Dots, Uneven Lines, and thin strokes using the knife edge.
• Palettes, Knives & other Paint Applicators - Palettes: wooden, white, disposable, paper palette, and acrylic/transparent palette. Knives: plastic and steel knives. Paint Applicators: Paint shaper, Foam roller, Foam brush, Sponge, and Rag or paper.
• Supports - Canvas, Cotton Duck, Stretching Canvas, Priming Canvas, Priming Board, Canvas Paper and Board.
• Introduction to Collage Art - Overview of collage art and what objects and materials to use.
• Demonstration - Combining and creating paper and images with collage.
• Collage Color and Design - Using elements and principles of design, including colors, to create dynamic collage.
• Mixed-Media Collage - Combine paper collage with other mediums to expand your creative expression.
• Selling Artwork - Teaching you how to sell your art via different websites and platforms.

You will complete a new piece of artwork each session that you can use as decor or a gift to a friend/loved one. Let your creative juices take over and create amazing compositions!
