Calling all drummers & percussion enthusiasts! If rhythmic Latin beats get you moving and get your fingers tapping, make sure you join this class for a groovy time!
These private (45-minutes per session) classes that are taken at the convenience of your home, are designed for complete beginners, drummers looking to expand into percussion, as well as music teachers looking to learn basic patterns. You will learn the basics of Latin percussion instruments & hand drums - choose between the bongos, congas or djembe.
Students will not only learn how to play the instrument but also the most important rhythms associated with the instrument of their choice which will allow them to achieve the most authentic sound. Students will come out of this class with the best knowledge for applying these instruments with different ensembles & music genres.
For complete beginners, 10 sessions are recommended to learn percussion playing from the basics. More experienced students can take 5 sessions to master playing, improvisation techniques & band dynamics. And students can also choose to take 1 session for a trial class.
Students don't need any prior knowledge or experience to take these classes & the instructor can teach in English & Spanish languages.
Materials:
* It is preferable for the student to have their own instrument. However, if the student does not have their own Bongo/Djembe, the instructor can bring them to teach & practice
* Congas cannot be brought by the instructor due to size and students must have their own
