Come and learn the art of brush lettering! This is a beginner's bootcamp aimed at teaching you the basics of modern calligraphy using a brush pen, which is like a marker that has a very tapered, brush-like end. Great for anyone interested in learning a new skill but all levels are welcome if you want to revisit the basics.

This class will take place in 5 sessions. The outline will be as follows:

• Basics of Brush lettering: Learning the basics of brush lettering. How to hold the pen. How to apply pressure to create variation of thickness. How to create letters of the alphabet
• Practicing Words and New Fonts: Working on individual's problem letters. Creating words and sentences. Learning Bouncy font. Faux lettering
• Blending: Blending colors within letters - 2 techniques; Create marble effect cards with brush pens
• Flourishing: Create swirls and loops as part of the letters to create elegance and add aesthetics to your pieces. Learn to use flourishes over negative space
• Layout & Composition: Learn to combine all techniques to create unique pieces. Learn to use the space provided to use multiple fonts, added elements, etc.
