Soulful Color
Anna Wyborn was born in Voronezh, Russia in 1979. She showed interest in painting since childhood, but only decided to do it professionally in her thirties. Like many creatives, she hit a mid-life crisis and started questioning her life’s purpose, eventually realizing the answer that she missed her younger years' passion.
She decided to try her hand at batik and silk painting and fell in love with the medium. “It always fascinates me how colors flow on the silk. It’s unpredictable, magical and ever-changing. And that’s what creates the beauty of painting on silk”. After trying silk painting on her own, Anna found out about Sergey Davydov, Russia’s leading batik artist, and studied this sophisticated art under the master.
Anna has been based in the UAE since 2001 and incorporates local cultural influences into some of her works. Being an avid traveler eager to learn about global world cultures of the world and in search of her own approach, Anna has experimented with a range of styles from Chinese painting to modern batik techniques, oriental landscapes and Middle Eastern cityscapes, flowers and animals, abstract painting and photo realism. Anna has exhibited her works locally and internationally since 2010, with many of her artworks belonging to private collections in Russia, France, Germany, the United States and UAE.
Being an empath and a highly sensitive person Anna became interested in quantum psychology and energy healing practices. And that made an impact on the artist’s creativity as well. “I strongly believe that art is a profound expression of your soul. Creating art is not a luxury but an essential expression of who I am. Through my paintings I transmit healing energy of the Source to all who are ready to receive it”.
