Are your kids interested in practical chemistry? Help them discover the art and science of scents and learn how to make their own signature perfume or incense!
In this at-home 2-hour session, your kids can choose one of the following options:
1. Perfume Making
Your kids will learn both the theoretical and practical aspects of fragrance creation. This session will cover natural raw materials of scents and rare essences and train your children to understand and evaluate the quality of natural raw materials to make wonderful aromas.
They will receive the fundamental building blocks necessary for learning how to create natural fragrances. A breadth of information is covered in these classes, from dosage, scent classification, aging, filtering, fixation, to accessory notes. At the end of the class, they will get to take home your own 30ml creation.
2. Bukhoor & Dukhoon Making
Bukhoor is a small disc-shaped incense which is an infusion of perfumed oils, and is burnt in the same way as oud to create the Dukhoon scent.
This session teaches your kids how to make these traditional Arabian scents at home. They will learn about oud (fragrant wood) and other materials used to make bukhoor, and how to grind the oud and mix it with the fragrant oils commonly used in bukhoor.
They will then receive instruction on how to mold the bukhoor into discs or balls, which they will insert in special containers for fermentation. At the end of this class, they'll get to take home 100gms of bukhoor.
