Description:
Do your kids love to create paintings on their own? Introduce them to oil painting so they can hone their minds and explore their ideas!
In this private, 2-hour lesson, they'll learn how to create, build and design stunning paintings with the use of oil paints. They'll expand the boundaries of their creativity and be amazed at what they can produce.
Choose between 1, 4, 8 or 12 sessions. It's recommended to start with 4 sessions to get an idea of how they want their creativity to shine. These classes can be rebooked and customized to meet their desired goals.
What they will learn:
- All properties of oil paint
- How to build an oil painting
- Create an underpainting through a subtractive process
- Glaze and add an opaque layer
- Apply an indirect painting, which is adding dark glazes to the bright opaque
- Paint in Alla prima
- Mix colors that create depth and form
- How to show the effect of brush strokes
- Brush strokes show evidence of the hand that created it. It allows the direction, emotion, and energy of the strokes to be seen
Materials:
- Participants should bring canvas (sizes vary from each lesson), an easel, a set of oil paints (Vangogh or Pebeo for example), and a set of oil brushes (filbert, flat, round) in different sizes, 1 jumbo filbert brush at least size 30 or bigger, fast drying medium (Galkyd or Liquin), odorless solvent or turpentine, linseed oil, Q tips, empty jar subtraction tool, cotton rags
- The materials required are dependent on which package is booked. The instructor will inform you which items are required upon booking
