Are you an experienced photographer looking to expand your skill set further? If yes, this workshop is exactly what you need!
This intermediate group workshop is designed to take you from shooting in semi-manual modes to full manual mode, allowing you to infuse more creativity into your photography. You will enhance your understanding of how to work with light and movement, through theoretical lessons and practical exercises. You will be taught by a professional photographer who will guide you through every step and also provide you with digital notes to support your learning.
Depending on the dates, this class will run for 1 6 hour-session, including a 1-hour break, or 5 hours (2 sessions x 2.5 hours)
By the end of the course, you will have the foundation needed to delve into advanced genres of photography, such as portraiture, travel, family, food, and wedding photography.
Topics Covered:
- Shooting in full manual mode
- HDR (High Dynamic Range)
- Panning, light painting, metering
- Flash, histograms, long exposures
- Advanced composition techniques
Who Should Attend:
To take this workshop you must have a thorough understanding of ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and how all of these relate to each other to achieve correct exposure. If you are not familiar with these terms or currently shoot in Auto or P mode, you must take the Introduction to Photography (Level 1) workshop prior to attending.
About the Instructor:
Laura Huntley leaped into photography in 2009, diving into books and research that propelled her self-taught skills with the camera. She broke free of her management position and moved to Dubai in pursuit of adventure. Laura has assisted the legendary Joe McNally, who inspired her to take photography on as a career which she has been doing since 2010.
Shooting families and kids are her forte, but she is savvy in all varieties of the trade. Laura brings her photographic passion to teach students and inspire them to pursue their journey in photography.
Materials:
- Students are required to bring the following materials:
- DSLR or mirrorless camera with a fully charged battery (point-and-shoot cameras and smartphones are not suitable). The institute can provide students with a camera for use during the workshop, but they must bring their own SD card
- Tripod (optional)
- An empty memory card for their camera
- Notebook & pen
- Digital workshop notes will be provided by the instructor
