Description:

Bring your favourite characters to life with this acting course!

Whether you envision yourself on Broadway or just want to try your hand at acting, this course is open to adults of all skill levels—from beginners to seasoned actors looking for a refresher on their acting skills.

Objective

Students bring a character to life and deliver a short scene in a professional theatre environment.

The aim of this course is to develop and enhance performance skills through theatre games and acting exercises, stimulating both playfulness and analysis. The course also covers improvisation, voice, movement, character development, a taster of the rehearsal process, and also performing in front of peers. Through creative exercises, students are led to develop characters of their choice from published plays and present their work.

Educational values

Through creative exercises, students practice both lateral and analytical thinking. Learning through playing, participants gather a diversity of methods devised by renowned theatre practitioners (e.g. Lecoq, Boal, Stanislavski). Individuals looking to enhance interpersonal skills can also benefit from exercising a sense of play, teamwork, and communication.
